East meets West at the ACMA

Published by Auckland Eye on Thursday, 13 Apr 2017

On Saturday 8th April, it was a beautiful autumn day as the Auckland Chinese Medical Association (ACMA) met at Villa Maria Estate for their annual conference

The theme was East meets West and delegates were presented with topics about Traditional Chinese Medicine in addition to Western based medical talks. The programme also included a number of medical and surgical workshops.

Auckland Eye was pleased to be a sponsor of the event and representatives were on hand throughout the day to answer any questions attendees may have had about laser eye surgery, cataract, glaucoma or just general queries about Auckland Eye and our specialists.

Susan Chen, Auckland Eye Laser Technician gave people a chance to experience an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging test. At one point there was a queue of people hoping to see detailed images of their retina and discuss how the results can be used for diagnosis of eye conditions.

In the afternoon, Dr Dean Corbett delivered a presentation to a packed room.  He discussed refractive surgery and presbyopia correcting surgery and finished off with an overview of SMILE laser vision correction.

Thank you to the ACMA for providing Auckland Eye with the opportunity to be involved with the Auckland Chinese Medical community. It was an incredibly valuable day for all.
