The cost for cataract and lens exchange surgery varies and will depend on your choice of lens. We understand the importance of transparency and accessibility when it comes to pricing for cataract and lens replacement surgery.
For patients with health insurance, the cost varies based on your specific plan coverage. Additionally, for those without insurance coverage, we offer flexible financing options to ensure that quality eye care remains within reach.

- Auckland Eye is affiliated with various Health Insurance companies such as Southern Cross, NIB, AIA, Accuro, Partners life, Unimed, Police Health and many more.
- You can request a comprehensive quote from our friendly customer service team which you can send to your Health Insurance Provider for pre-approval.
- Please note: Insurance cover may vary depending on your insurance policy plan.

24 month interest free finance options for laser surgery
Auckland Eye is pleased to offer finance with Q Card and Q MasterCard®, and offers 24 months interest free with no payments for the first 3 months*.
Terms and conditions
*Finance not available online. No payments and no interest for 3 months (“Payment Holiday”) and no interest for a further 21 months is available on Flexi Payment Plans. Minimum purchase $2,500. Offer is ongoing. Annual Account Fee of $50 applies. Existing Cardholder fee – $35 Advance fee. New Cardholder fee – $55 Establishment fee. Minimum payments of 3% of the monthly closing balance or $10 (whichever is greater) are required once the Payment Holiday ends. Paying only the minimum monthly payments will not fully repay the loan before the end of the interest free period. Standard Interest Rate, currently 25.25% p.a. applies to any outstanding balance at end of interest free period. Lending criteria, fees, terms and conditions apply.

Not from Auckland?
We provide a special package for patients travelling from outside of the Greater Auckland Region, specifically for LASIK or SMILE Pro. Your laser surgery experience:
- On your arrival at Auckland Eye, you will meet our laser technician and your surgeon, who will take you through your assessment. We will take precise measurements of your eyes enabling us to provide a personalised treatment plan.
- Your SMILE Pro/LASIK laser procedure will be scheduled for later that same day. Even though the procedure doesn’t take long, please expect to be with us for about 3 hours for full assessment and surgery to be completed.
- After your surgery you will head to your accommodation for the evening and a good nights sleep. Auckland Eye will pay for your accommodation though all incidentals will be at your own expense.
Post-operative appointments
Your 2 week and 2 month check ups can be provided by your own local optometrist. However, if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us directly, and if further post-op appointments are required it may be necessary to come back and see us here.
Out of town costs
You’ll need to cover the cost of your travel to and from Auckland and any living expenses you incur while you are here (food, drink etc), but your surgery and one night’s accommodation are both covered by the normal price of surgery.
Terms & Conditions
This offer applies to LASIK and SMILE Pro only, no other surgical procedures provided by Auckland Eye are included. Accommodation will only be provided for one night following your surgery. Any extra nights stay or future visits to this clinic will not be covered by this offer.
