Financing and Payment

Auckland Eye is an affiliated ACC Provide for consultations and surgeries and there are no additional charges for ACC accepted and approved claims .

Please ensure you have a referral to Auckland Eye to support your claim and /or an ACC claim number .

Please Note: If your claim is not approved by ACC you will be responsible for paying for your own medical expenses and any other associated costs.

If you are a Southern Cross Member and your surgery is not part of their affiliated provider scheme, please note that Surgical Bookings will let you know about this. You are responsible for getting prior approval from Southern Cross before your surgery date. We cannot help you with this on the day of your admission.

Note: Please contact Southern Cross before your Admission if you have any questions about your insurance cover.

If your surgery is part of the Affiliated Provider scheme, Surgical Bookings will handle the prior approval process with Southern Cross and inform you about it. You might need to make an excess or shortfall payment, depending on your policy and the type of lenses you choose. The surgical fees cover the visits within six weeks after the surgery, but any investigations (i.e. additional tests) carried out in the post operative period can incur a charge. We will send your accounts directly to Southern Cross.

Note: Southern Cross has an Affiliated Provider list that covers some procedures. Auckland Eye is an Affiliated Provider and will handle your billing with Southern Cross if your procedure is covered. If not, you will need to send your invoices to Southern Cross yourself.

Please contact your insurance company prior to day of surgery to check if your procedure is covered, get prior approval and to also ask them any questions you may have. Proof of your prior approval is required before or on admission by either providing the prior approval letter or number. You will not have to pay any fees on the day of surgery, except for any surgical or lens excess that may apply.

We accept most credit cards (no surcharge), AMEX (no surcharge) and EFTPOS. Direct credit and internet banking payments must be made 4 working days prior to surgery date.
