Auckland Eye is now offering VR (Vitreoretinal) Surgery at Takapuna
We are pleased to announce that, from 02 February 2026, our surgical retina ophthalmologists will perform Vitreoretinal (VR) Surgery at Takapuna.
We’re taking part in Round the Bays Auckland 2026 to help raise essential funds for the important work of Glaucoma New Zealand. Our specialists work alongside partners like these to safeguard the vision of New Zealanders.
Glaucoma is a leading general cause of irreversible blindness, often progressing silently with no warning signs whatever. By education, support, and advocacy, Glaucoma NZ is an important partner in educating the public about it, whereas ophthalmology experts are involved in its treatment.
✨ You can make a difference.
When you donate to our fundraiser, you’re contributing to making people with glaucoma aware, diagnosed earlier, and treated better.

Red eyes are common and often harmless, but sometimes signal serious eye conditions—knowing when to seek care can help protect your vision.

Many people notice their eyes feel drier, more irritated, or more tired over the holiday period and it’s no coincidence.
