A child during eye test

At Auckland Eye, we understand the unique importance of your child’s vision. Our dedicated team of expert ophthalmologists is committed to ensuring the best possible care for your child’s eyes, by providing specialised children’s eye surgery and vision correction services. We believe in creating a world where every child can see clearly, explore confidently, and learn without limitations.

Why Choose Auckland Eye for Children's Eye Surgery?

Specialised Paediatric Ophthalmologists:

Our team includes highly skilled and experienced paediatric ophthalmologists who specialise in treating children’s eye conditions. Among them our doctors have more than 60 years of paediatric ophthalmology experience, so they are experts in understanding the specific needs and challenges associated with paediatric eye care.

State-of-the-Art Facilities:

Auckland Eye is equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure accurate diagnosis and precise treatment. We prioritise the comfort and safety of our young patients, providing a child-friendly environment that helps alleviate any anxiety.

Comprehensive Vision Correction Services:

Whether your child requires surgery for strabismus, amblyopia (lazy eye), or any other vision-related issue, we offer a range of comprehensive vision correction services tailored to meet their unique needs.

Auckland’s only specialised ophthalmology myopia prevention clinic:

Our paediatric doctors work with a dedicated team of optometrists to offer solutions to slow down the progression of myopia (short sight).

Genetics expertise:

With access to genetic testing when required.

Only private institution with two orthoptists:

Our orthoptists work alongside our paediatric specialists and neuro-ophthalmologists to assess both children’s and adult’s eyes. Orthoptists are specifically trained to assist in the management of a wide variety of vision effecting conditions, including squints, strabismus and lazy eye.  Their specialised training is not available in NZ, so our orthoptists come to us from overseas. Your child will see one of our orthoptists before their appointment with an ophthalmologist.

Holistic Approach to Paediatric Eye Care:

Our approach goes beyond surgical interventions. We work closely with parents and guardians to understand the child’s lifestyle, ensuring a holistic approach to eye care that supports healthy visual development.

Patient-Centric Care:

We prioritise the well-being of your child. Our team takes the time to explain procedures in an age-appropriate manner, helping your child feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process.
